Join the City of Raleigh, in partnership with We Plant it Forward, for this FREE community event to explore earth-conscious vendors and organizations while enjoying live music, games, and activities for all ages. We will be showing a family-friendly movie to conclude the event.

- TAKE ACTION with a pledge to volunteer or make a commitment to personal changes that support the environment and build resilience to our changing climate.
- CELEBRATE the Raleigh Environmental Award Winners who will be recognized for their work as climate and environmental champions.

Please bring your own water bottle. We will have a water bottle refilling station available for attendees.
Educational Demonstrations and Tree Giveaway
Check out interactive and educational demonstrations connected to Arbor Day at the We Plant it Forward stage from 4 to 5 p.m. and join a Walk with an Arborist at 5 p.m.
Information Booths and Activities 4 p.m. - 8 p.m.
Visit tables hosted by City of Raleigh representatives, We Plant it Forward, and other local organizations. Tables will have engaging activities and information on how each group stewards our planet and community. Pick up a free native tree seedling from We Plant it Forward, check out City of Raleigh “touch-a-truck” vehicles, and join in family-friendly activities and yard games in the field.
Event Welcome 5:30 p.m.
The event welcome at the main stage will feature speakers, including David Rahahę•tih Webb of the Tuscarora community, who will share a traditional opening in the Tuscarora Language with the English translation. This opening directs our gratitude towards all of the natural world that surrounds us: Earth, the waters, plants and trees, crops, animals, birds and the life-sustaining rains. Video and audio recordings of this traditional opening will not be permitted.
Earth Dances 6 p.m.
Members of the North Carolina Tuscarora and other regional tribal communities will share Earth Dances, also called social dances. These dances, such as the Stick Dance, Alligator Dance, and Smoke Dance are fun and interactive. You might even find yourself invited to participate in some of them!
Environmental Awards 6:30 p.m.
The Raleigh Environmental Awards celebrate the best in climate action, community engagement and corporate stewardship in our city. Raleigh Environmental Award winners represent our community's dedication to climate action, environmental stewardship, innovation and education. Celebrate this year’s award winners and their accomplishments at the main stage!
Tree Dedication 7:15 p.m.
Join We Plant it Forward in a tree planting and dedication in recognition of Arbor Day.
Movie in the Park 8:15 p.m. - 10 p.m.
The movie The Wild Robot will be shown in Flowers Field at 8:15 to highlight that human impacts on the environment can make both a negative and positive difference. The movie is rated G and has a run time of 1 hour and 42 minutes.
